Pass rate decreased by 7.7% compared to last exam... Submit documents by the 21st, final announcement on July 2
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] A total of 430 candidates have been listed as expected passers in this year's first architect qualification exam.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced the list of expected passers of the architect qualification exam on the 14th through the websites of the Ministry and the Korea Institute of Registered Architects.
A total of 6,591 candidates took the exam, which is 418 fewer than the previous session (7,009 candidates in the 2nd session of 2020). The expected pass rate for those who passed all three subjects was 6.5% (430 candidates), a decrease of 7.7 percentage points (562 candidates) from the previous pass rate of 14.2% (992 candidates).
The pass rates by subject were 9.5% (503 candidates) for the first session, Site Planning; 8.9% (402 candidates) for the second session, Architectural Design 1; and 8.2% (392 candidates) for the third session, Architectural Design 2, all of which were lower than the previous session.
The Ministry explained that the decrease in passers compared to the previous session is due to an increase in candidates with less than five years of experience, the implementation of the exam twice a year since last year which increased the number of passers (2,279) over the past year, reducing the number of highly skilled candidates, and a decrease in the final passers among those who had passed two subjects previously.
The majority of expected passers were in their 30s with 183 candidates (42.6%) and in their 40s with 177 candidates (41.2%).
Female passers accounted for 29.5% (127 candidates) of the total expected passers, showing a similar ratio to the previous session (29.7%, 295 candidates in the 2nd session of 2020).
Expected passers must submit related documents such as career certificates to the Korea Institute of Registered Architects from the 18th to the 21st. The final passers will be announced on July 2 after document review of the expected passers on the websites of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Institute of Registered Architects.
