Seung-ro Lee, Seongbuk-gu Mayor, Expresses Gratitude to Seniors Weary from COVID-19

Expressing Gratitude and Love to Seniors in May Family Month... Carnations and Sanitation Kits Distributed at Welfare Centers and Silver Welfare Centers from May 3 to 7 for Parents' Day

Seung-ro Lee, Seongbuk-gu Mayor, Expresses Gratitude to Seniors Weary from COVID-19 Seung-ro Lee, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, visited a local welfare center on the 7th and pinned carnations on the elderly.


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Seungro Lee) commemorated Parents' Day by delivering carnations and COVID-19 prevention kits to the elderly through local senior welfare centers and silver welfare centers, expressing gratitude and love.


The Parents' Day events were held from the 3rd to the 7th at each facility, strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines in consideration of the COVID-19 situation.


At Jeongneung Silver Welfare Center (on the 3rd), carnations-shaped soaps and COVID-19 prevention kits were given to seniors participating in face-to-face programs before classes. At Samseon Silver Welfare Center (from the 3rd to the 4th), carnations expressing gratitude were distributed.


Jangwi Silver Welfare Center (on the 4th) provided potted carnations and COVID-19 prevention kits. Seongbuk Senior Welfare Center (on the 7th) also handed out carnations to seniors participating in face-to-face programs before classes.


Seokgwan Silver Welfare Center (on the 7th) held an online ‘Brain Merchant Contest’ themed on Parents' Day, delivering small gifts such as masks to participating seniors through a word quiz.


At Sangwolgok Silver Welfare Center (on the 7th), the online event ‘The 7th Warm Confession of Carnations’ was held, featuring readings of thank-you letters for Parents' Day.


Seungro Lee, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, "It must have been very difficult to use senior welfare centers and silver welfare centers for a long time due to COVID-19, so I am grateful to be able to see the elderly even briefly on Parents' Day," adding, "Seongbuk-gu will do its best to ensure that COVID-19 ends as soon as possible so that more seniors can use the senior welfare centers and silver welfare centers."
