[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Suwon Museum of Art in Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 6th that it will purchase artworks from the 7th to the 21st to establish the museum's identity and direction, and to collect artworks with high art historical and artistic value.


The target artworks for this collection purchase are ▲works with significant research value in the study of modern and contemporary Korean and Suwon art history ▲representative works by capable senior, mid-career, and emerging domestic artists leading the trends of contemporary art ▲representative works by feminist artists who have led the flow of women's art in modern and contemporary Korean art history.


Each individual can apply to sell up to two pieces, and the appropriateness of the purchase and pricing will be decided through the Suwon Museum of Art's Artwork Collection Review Committee and Artwork Pricing Review Committee.


Applications to sell can be submitted by downloading the form from the Suwon City website or the museum website and sending it by registered mail along with the required documents.


The newly collected artworks will be continuously preserved, managed, and researched, and will later be utilized as various cultural and artistic content resources for exhibitions, education, and for visitors and citizens.
