Samsung FlexWash Selected as InnoStar and GreenStar for 4 Consecutive Years

Samsung’s ‘FlexWash’ has been selected as the 2021 Korea ‘Innovation Product No.1 Innostar’ and ‘Eco-friendly Product Green Star.’ It has been chosen for both Innostar and Green Star in the all-in-one washing machine category for four consecutive years.

‘FlexWash’ is a product that integrates a small-capacity fully automatic washing machine ‘CompactWash’ on the top and a large-capacity drum washing machine ‘AddWash’ on the bottom, allowing simultaneous or separate washing according to the amount, type, and color of laundry. It is a ‘3-door all-in-one’ washing machine. Samsung’s ‘FlexWash’ completes the 3-door system by designing the 3.5kg fully automatic washing machine ‘CompactWash’ on the top and the large-capacity drum washing machine ‘AddWash’ on the bottom as an integrated unit, presenting a new category in the washing machine market that was previously divided into fully automatic and drum types.

This product features an ergonomic design with the small-capacity ‘CompactWash’ on top, allowing users to easily put in and take out laundry without bending their waist much when using both the upper and lower parts, minimizing physical burden related to housework. In 2017, it won the ‘Best of Best’ award at the Ergonomic Design Awards hosted by the Korean Society of Ergonomics and the Grand Prize in the home appliance category at the 2017 Asian Conference on Ergonomics and Design (ACED).

Samsung’s ‘FlexWash’ not only completely solves the inconvenience of having to wash multiple times for detailed garment care according to various materials and colors but also significantly reduces the energy and time required for washing, enabling ‘smart washing’ that saves water, electricity, time, and space.

The top ‘CompactWash’ offers various washing courses such as quick wash, boiling, and wool/lingerie, making it useful for small or frequently washed items like underwear, socks, school uniform shirts, or baby clothes that need boiling. With CompactWash, small amounts of laundry can be handled with a small-capacity washing machine, using only the necessary amount of water and detergent.

The bottom drum washing machine ‘AddWash’ can handle washing and drying with a single machine and is released with the largest domestic capacity of 23kg, allowing ample washing of thick winter blankets. The ‘AddWindow’ located at the top of the door allows users to pause the washing process at any time to add laundry, detergent, or fabric softener.

Meanwhile, the Innostar certification announced by the Korea Management Registrar (KMR) is a system that selects the No.1 product and service within items recognized for innovation leading the market in various aspects such as quality, design, and user environment through consumer research by the professional research agency ‘Korea Research.’ It started in 2005 as the Global Standard Management Award in the innovation category and annually selects the leading domestic innovative products and services.
