Park Young-sun Raises Issue on Additional Compensation for Residential Land Besides 3.6 Billion KRW Land Compensation in Naegok-dong by Oh

Assemblyman Cheon Junho Reveals Response from SH
"Right to Purchase Single Residential Lots Granted According to Criteria"
Kim Taenyeon: "Must Truthfully Disclose How Many Additional Housing Sites and Their Usage"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Park Young-sun, the Democratic Party of Korea's candidate for Seoul mayor, disclosed additional documents regarding the allegations of self-compensation for land in Naegok-dong by Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate. These are evidential materials related to Park's previous revelation during the MBC 100-minute debate, where she raised issues about Oh's land compensation in Naegok-dong and exposed that he had also received additional special allocations of land for single-family housing.

On the 30th, Park's campaign team released materials titled 'Negotiated Sale (Special Sale) for Landowners in Naegok-dong Housing Site' obtained by Assemblyman Cheon Jun-ho from the Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH).

According to the documents, the land in Naegok-dong owned by Oh's in-laws was granted the right to purchase single-family housing lots, and a sales contract was concluded based on the appraised value.

SH responded to Assemblyman Cheon's inquiry about whether the Naegok-dong landowner, who is Oh's in-law, received negotiated sales related to the construction of the housing site and details of the allocation by stating, "According to the standards, the right to purchase single-family housing lots (for landowners who transferred the right through negotiation) was granted, and a sales contract was concluded at the appraised value."

During the previous day's TV debate, Park mentioned this information and stated that Oh's in-laws received additional compensation for single-family housing lots beyond the 3.65 billion KRW land compensation.

When Park asked Oh, "Besides the 3.65 billion KRW compensation, did you receive anything additional?" Oh replied, "No. To be precise, I don't know. My father-in-law and mother-in-law received it, so how would I know?" Then Park said, "You are changing your story again," presenting SH's response as evidence and stating, "We received a reply that additional special allocations of single-family housing lots were granted."

Kim Tae-nyeon, acting leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, strongly pressured Oh, saying, "One lie leads to another, and now it has reached an irreparable state," and urged, "Resign as promised."

On the same day, during a floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly, Kim referred to the previous day's TV debate, saying, "There was a question from candidate Park about the suspicion that Oh's in-laws received single-family housing lots in addition to the 3.6 billion KRW compensation for land in Naegok-dong," and added, "I hope Oh candidly reveals whether he received additional housing lots, how many pyeong they are, and what purpose they were used for, without any lies."

He continued, "Whether Oh was present at the land surveying site is a very important matter," and said, "If there was nothing to hide regarding this case, he should have said from the beginning that he knew about the existence and location of the land, but he keeps repeating lies. He must clearly reveal the truth even now."

Furthermore, he stated, "Oh was the one who said he would resign if a conscience declaration came out," and added, "He pledged to leave politics forever if he profited from his in-laws' land. This was not forced but a voluntary promise to the public. Oh should resign as promised."
