[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is promoting a transportation support project to alleviate the inconvenience of military personnel stationed in the area when going out on weekdays.
According to Imsil-gun on the 9th, the military has been supporting two buses since the day before for soldiers going out from the 35th Homeland Division and the 6th Ammunition Depot, military units in the area, and started operating transportation buses every Monday to Friday.
However, the operation will be flexible considering military training, emergency situations, and the COVID-19 situation.
These military units stationed in the region are located in rural areas with poor transportation conditions, causing considerable inconvenience for soldiers when going out.
Accordingly, since 2019, the county has been promoting a soldier transportation support project to reduce the economic burden on soldiers and enable them to move to Imsil-eup, where various service infrastructures are established.
Through this support, the county expects to boost the morale of military personnel and expand opportunities for cultural life enjoyment, as well as revitalize the local economy by helping small business owners in the area who are struggling due to the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.
County Governor Shim Min said, “Providing vehicles that allow soldiers going out to comfortably come to the town center has resulted in high satisfaction, and it is expected to greatly help the local commercial district. We will continue to make greater efforts to provide various benefits and high-quality services so that military personnel do not experience inconvenience.”
