[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kolon Industries FnC division announced on the 7th that its upcycling brand ‘RAKEODEU’ will launch the 2021 spring·summer season collections ‘Archive Line’ and ‘Rinano Line.’
The Archive Line deconstructed Kolon FnC’s menswear brand inventory and redesigned it into womenswear. It added details such as cuts, patchwork, and pleats using neutral colors from men’s suits and high-quality materials.
The casual style ‘Rinano Line’ was planned to more easily convey the meaning of upcycling by applying leftover materials such as buttons and zippers to basic clothing like T-shirts. This season is characterized by new approaches, such as changing the overall silhouette of the products.
Various leftover materials such as sweatshirts, jumpsuits, and jumpers were used, and even scraps left after production were utilized to practice ‘zero waste’ (minimizing waste).
Park Seonju, head of RAKEODEU’s design office, said, “The core of RAKEODEU design is to propose completely different designs by adding new perspectives to existing standardized items. This season’s collection strengthens RAKEODEU’s unique color while adding a casual mood to make upcycling easy to experience.”
Meanwhile, RAKEODEU’s new collection can be found at Series Corner in Hannam-dong, Art Sonje, and the select shop ‘YTO’ located on the 3rd floor of The Hyundai Seoul, and will be sequentially sold on Kolon Mall as well.
