Hwasun-gun to Operate 'Agricultural Machinery Rental Center' Until November 30

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeollanam-do Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 2nd that it will expand the operation of the 'Agricultural Machinery Rental Center' until November 30th to accommodate the busy farming season.

During this period, the county will operate the agricultural machinery rental center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on holidays including Saturdays and Sundays, and will also open the rental center one hour earlier from 8 a.m. on weekdays so that farmers can conveniently use the rental agricultural machinery.

The county operates two agricultural machinery rental centers, the main office and two branches, renting out 370 units of 65 types of agricultural machinery.

Additionally, it has provided 556 agricultural machinery delivery services, with the number of rental machinery uses increasing every year.

Considering the difficulties faced by rural areas due to COVID-19, the county has implemented a policy to reduce agricultural machinery rental fees.

The 50% discount on agricultural machinery rental fees has been in effect from March last year until this June, with 3,245 farms receiving a total rental fee reduction of 120 million KRW last year.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, “By implementing holiday work, we will do our best to ensure timely farming practices without disruption to farmers' work schedules,” and added, “We will make every effort to operate the agricultural machinery rental centers, including replacing old machinery with new models and new types.”
