[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, is attracting attention by requesting the establishment of a healing course on the Namdo premium trail Dalma-godo in educational programs conducted by various educational institutions.

According to Haenam-gun on the 28th, Vice Governor Kang Sang-gu and officials visited the Jeollanam-do Human Resources Development Institute on the 26th and proposed including the Dalma-godo healing course in civil servant training.

Vice Governor Kang suggested, “We expect that by officially establishing the Dalma-godo, designated as Jeollanam-do’s first Namdo premium trail, as a course for Jeonnam civil servants to understand and utilize first, we can turn the trends of healing and eco-tourism into tourism policies.”

The Dalma-godo healing course program is already established in the long-term training courses for civil servants and public institutions at the Local Government Human Resources Development Institute, and is actively being considered for the National Defense University’s security course and the Sejong Institute’s senior public official course. Through this visit, a positive response was received from the Jeollanam-do Human Resources Development Institute to consider applying it as part of some subjects.

Dalma-godo is a 17.74 km circular trail created on Dalma Mountain, where the beautiful temple Mihwangsa is located in Ttangkkeut Village. It is a representative walking travel route in Namdo, designed to preserve the historical and cultural resources of the old path with minimal environmental damage while making it easy to walk. Since its opening in November 2017, more than 180,000 domestic walking enthusiasts have visited, and the revisit rate is high, enhancing its status as a famous walking travel destination.

With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, demand for individual and walking trips to Dalma-godo has increased significantly. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s walking travel program contest has selected it for two consecutive years, and the ‘365-day Dalma-godo Walking Day’ is being held.

Haenam-gun plans to thoroughly prepare in advance by reorganizing various tourist sites in anticipation of the end of COVID-19.
