-3D Printer, High Interest but High Barrier for General Public

ThreeDInha (CEO Baek Jong-gil), a specialized business engaged in 3D printing, post-processing, and painting of 3D printer outputs, announced on the 22nd that it is accelerating education for the general public to lower the high entry barriers of 3D printers.
The novel coronavirus infection (hereinafter COVID-19) has brought many changes to our lives. In particular, due to the impact of COVID-19, the importance of flexible supply chains has emerged across industries, and the global 3D printer market showed a 25% growth rate in 2020 compared to 2019, as it enables manufacturing at any time.
With the active adoption of 3D printers in various industries both domestically and internationally, the need for professional education on 3D printers has been raised. Especially, although the size and popularity of the domestic 3D printer market are growing day by day, the high entry barrier remains a reality for the general public.
ThreeDInha has been conducting 3D education including ▲3D printer training ▲3D printing education ▲makerspace ▲figure production training ▲art toy director lectures, and as it faced difficulties operating the makerspace due to COVID-19, it is currently running an ‘untact makerspace’ as an alternative.
The untact makerspace operated in Daejeon offers untact education and experiences related to 3D modeling, 3D printing, and 3D printers at the same level as face-to-face education.
A (24), who actually participated in the untact education, said, “I became interested in 3D printers and wanted to receive training, but it was not easy due to COVID-19. Later, I heard that ThreeDInha was operating an untact makerspace and participated. I was satisfied because I could receive education and experience simultaneously even in a non-face-to-face manner.”
Baek Jong-gil, CEO of ThreeDInha, said, “In 2019, while running the untact makerspace, we thought countless times about how to provide trainees with classes of the same quality as face-to-face lessons. Perfect 3D education and experience are important, but the most important thing is the safety of the trainees,” adding, “We hope that trainees can catch both safety and education through the untact makerspace.”
