Swollen Lips Tripled While Trying to Get Pretty... "Thoroughly Consult a Specialist Before Getting Fillers"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A woman whose lips swelled to three times their size after receiving a filler treatment costing about 120,000 won has revealed her appearance and warned, "Thoroughly research the doctor before getting fillers."

On the 19th (local time), according to the British daily newspapers Daily Mail and The Sun, Louise Smith (25), who lives in West Sussex, southern England, visited a salon before Christmas to get fillers to boost her confidence.

She found an advertisement on Facebook for a filler treatment costing ?80 (about 120,000 won), made a reservation for 1.1ml of filler, and then visited the location.

The procedure itself was so painful that she almost fainted.

After the procedure, her lips were noticeably bumpy, and her excitement immediately after the treatment soon turned into fear.

Louise said, "My lips swelled up an hour after the procedure, and by that evening, they had become enormously large," adding, "I thought the swelling would go down after a day or two once I got my lips done."

Her lips remained bluntly swollen over time, and the pain did not subside.

Even after more than a month, her lips are still significantly swollen.

Louise sent a message demanding a refund from the doctor who performed the filler treatment, and although the doctor eventually refunded her, they blocked her messages.

Louise visited another doctor, who advised her that "the filler was injected too deeply, causing the pain," and recommended massaging the lips to help them calm down.

Louise complained, "There are large, hard lumps remaining on my upper and lower lips," and said, "The lumps still ache. I was told to massage them slowly to remove them, but the lumps in my lips are so hard, large, and deep that it is really painful."

She added, "Make sure to thoroughly research specialists before getting filler treatments."
