Inspection for a total of 675,000 households from the 18th to the 10th of next month
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The 'Separate Collection of Transparent PET Bottles' system, which enables recycling with high-quality products and has been in effect since December 25 last year, is reportedly landing smoothly.
Gyeongnam Province announced on the 19th that it will jointly inspect the status of separate collection in multi-family housing with city and county offices until the 10th of next month to raise awareness about separate collection.
The separate collection system for transparent PET bottles reflects the revision of the Ministry of Environment's 'Guidelines on Separate Collection of Recyclable Resources.'
This inspection targets 1,177 complexes (675,000 households) in the province, including multi-family housing with more than 300 households and apartments with more than 150 households.
The inspection will focus on whether the system has been promoted and implemented within the complexes, whether separate collection bins for transparent PET bottles are provided, and whether other plastics are mixed in the disposal.
Meanwhile, the province is promoting various projects to facilitate the early establishment of the separate collection system for transparent PET bottles, including operating helpers for separate collection of household waste, distributing recycling collection networks, supporting recycling vending machines, and supporting quality improvement projects at sorting centers.
