[Breaking] Confirmed COVID-19 Case of a High School Senior Living in Dormitory in Cheongju

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] With the 2021 College Scholastic Ability Test just 8 days away, an examinee at a high school in Cheongju, Chungbuk, has tested positive, putting the education authorities on high alert.

This student, a third-year at the school, tested positive for COVID-19 along with three family members the previous night. Notably, the student lives in the dormitory, raising significant concerns about a potential increase in confirmed cases.

The school operates two dormitories housing about 100 students from grades 1 to 3. The school urgently decided to suspend attendance and is currently setting up a screening clinic for epidemiological investigations by health authorities.
