Goryeo Dynasty Cheoinseong Battle Realized in VR

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] The Battle of Cheoinseong from the Goryeo Dynasty is being recreated in virtual reality (VR).

The Institute of International Area Studies at Kyung Hee University announced on the 29th that it will hold this VR experience exhibition at the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum in line with the "15th Humanities Week," which runs until the 1st of next month.

In this experience exhibition, the Battle of Cheoinseong, which resisted the Mongol invasion during the Goryeo period, has been built in VR. The atmosphere of a Goryeo-era village and the geography inside Cheoinseong are implemented in virtual reality. Participants can directly experience the appearance of Yongin during the Goryeo Dynasty and try using weapons from that time. The development was undertaken by the VR specialist company "DNA-LAB."

The Cheoinseong Battle VR experience exhibition will be operated until mid-next month in the Prehistoric Edu-Tech Room at the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum. Any museum visitor can participate.

A representative from the Institute of International Area Studies at Kyung Hee University said, "We hope this serves as an opportunity to recall the patriotic spirit of Commander Kim Yunhu and the Cheoin Bugok residents who fought against the Mongol army, and that the Battle of Cheoinseong will be highlighted as a cultural symbol embodying Yongin's identity, aiding the development of Yongin's historical and cultural content. We also hope children and adolescents can learn history naturally and enjoyably, and we intend to actively utilize this VR content as an educational resource in schools."
