[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) held a rice donation ceremony for Chuseok with the Peace Volunteer Group at the district office at 3:30 PM on the 23rd.

On this day, Haemo-eum of the Peace Volunteer Group (Chairman Haemo-eum) donated 100 bags of white rice (10kg each), hoping that low-income families could have a warm Chuseok.

The Peace Volunteer Group Haemo-eum has been providing continuous support every year for low-income residents in the area, including donating 1,000kg of rice last Lunar New Year.

The donation ceremony was held with the attendance of the district mayor, Go Gyo-moknam, chairman of the Peace Volunteer Group Haemo-eum, and Jung Jeong-ung, head of the Seoul branch of the Korean Atomic Bomb Victims Association, proceeding with a tea time, rice donation, and commemorative photo session.

The donated rice will be distributed to 100 low-income households in the area through recommendations from each community service center.

Oh Seung-rok, mayor of Nowon-gu, expressed gratitude, saying, “The suffering of low-income vulnerable groups has increased due to COVID-19,” and “Thank you for your continued support this year as well.”
