[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Emergency patients, including a foreign crew member injured during hauling operations off Manjaedo Island in Sinan, Jeonnam, were urgently transported by the Coast Guard.
According to the Mokpo Coast Guard Station on the 21st, at around 10:30 a.m. on the 20th, Indonesian crew member Mr. H (32 years old) of coastal gillnet fishing vessel A (9.77 tons, Mokpo-registered, 5 crew members) operating 13 km west of Manjaedo Island, Sinan-gun, Jeonnam, had his arm caught in the hauling machine during work but fortunately was freed. However, he reported severe chest pain, according to the captain of vessel A.
Upon receiving the report, the Coast Guard immediately dispatched a patrol boat, moored alongside vessel A at sea, took the patient on board, and moved to Gageodo Port in Sinan. Using a doctor helicopter, the patient was urgently transported to the hospital at around 12:31 p.m.
Earlier, at 2:31 a.m. on the same day, the Coast Guard received a report that resident Mr. B (63 years old) living on Haedo Island, Sinan-gun, Jeonnam, was experiencing severe chest pain and difficulty breathing since after midnight. At around 4:30 a.m., he was handed over to the 119 emergency medical team waiting at Bokho Dock on Anjwa Island.
Mr. B, who was urgently transported, is known to have a history of cardiac stent surgery and is currently undergoing inpatient treatment.
