Dongseo University LINC+ Project Group Jointly Operates Employment and Startup Education Programs and Corporate Support Content
Five Joint Projects Responding
Six LINC Plus project groups in the Busan area are launching the establishment of a shared university platform.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] As the concept of shared universities, where one university’s major capabilities are shared with other universities, is gaining importance, a workshop for the LINC+ project groups of six universities in the Busan area was held over two days starting from the 11th.
The focus on this workshop has deepened as it is known that the government’s Green New Deal project will be implemented as a shared university initiative for training personnel in advanced industrial fields.
A shared university aims to maximize innovation capabilities by sharing the strengths each individual university possesses with other universities. So far, the six LINC+ universities in the Busan area (Dongmyung University, Dongseo University, Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, Pukyong National University, and Korea Maritime and Ocean University) have been conducting various sharing programs under the goal of “From Competition to Cooperation.”
It began in May with an agreement to develop and operate online entrepreneurship education programs such as a non-face-to-face startup camp in response to COVID-19.
In June, to address changes in university education trends due to COVID-19 and to strengthen students’ employment capabilities, the “I-Korea 4.0” program was launched, which developed an AI and non-face-to-face (untact) interview consulting program and produced short-term online courses that are provided free of charge to small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners.
In July, a joint capstone design project called “B.SORI (Busan Solutions Of Regional Issues),” which seeks solutions to problems faced by Busan companies and the local community while enhancing students’ practical skills, was jointly operated.
As the next step, a workshop was held to “build a shared university platform” titled “Activation of the Busan Area LINC+ Project Group Linkage and Construction of an Industry-Academia Cooperation Shared University Platform.”
At this workshop, there were special lectures on ▲contributing to regional community development through sharing educational resources (by Jung Hee-young, CEO of HM Management Consulting) and how to create a shared university (by Kim Tae-seok, CEO of Saenggaknamu Education Group), as well as ▲brainstorming for building the LINC+ shared university platform ▲signing of an MOU for building the LINC+ shared university platform ▲and discussions on joint project promotion and linkage plans for the shared university platform construction.
Through this agreement, the six LINC+ project groups in the Busan area plan to establish an industry-academia education cluster for mutual growth between the six universities and the local community (industry) by ▲establishing a basic plan for operating the shared university platform using the Eurasia platform ▲preparing a support system and support measures to create a stable foundation for the shared university platform ▲jointly operating entrepreneurship education courses and corporate support content on the shared university platform linked to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and convergence major selection and activation.
Hwang Ki-hyun, deputy head of the LINC+ project group at Dongseo University, said, “Starting with the construction of the Busan area LINC+ shared university platform, we will actively adopt new methods in response to changes in the times and continue efficient and sustainable industry-academia cooperation activities suited to the untact era through various linkage activations.”
