Gimje-si to Conduct Cyber Civil Defense Training in the Second Half of the Year Gimje City Hall

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Tae-in] Gimje City, Jeonbuk Province, will replace the second half civil defense training with non-face-to-face cyber training to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

According to the city on the 27th, the civil defense cyber training will be operated for three months from next month 1st to November 30th. Trainees can access the Digital Civil Defense website via PC or smartphone, verify their identity, and complete a one-hour training course.

The training targets approximately 3,400 people including 1st to 4th year members, members with 5 or more years, and civil defense captains. The training content consists of the duties and roles of civil defense members, first aid, lifesaving, and disaster preparedness action guidelines.

Until now, 1st to 4th year civil defense members received 4 hours of group training annually, and those with 5 or more years received 1 hour of emergency assembly training, but this year, all group training and assembly drills have been completely suspended due to the spread of COVID-19.

Lee Young-seok, Director of Safety and Disaster Management, said, "We are conducting the second half cyber training to prevent COVID-19 while resolving difficulties in group training and encouraging mandatory education completion," adding, "We ask for the active participation and cooperation of all civil defense members."
