Jungjinkong, Online Briefing Session for 'Non-face-to-face Overseas Expansion Project' Source=Small and Medium Business Corporation


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 31st that it held an online briefing session for the 'Non-face-to-face Overseas Expansion Support Project.'


The briefing was held at Justco Justco Tower in Gangnam, Seoul. Domestic participants included companies involved in the project and members of overseas private networks. SBC's overseas export support base staff, local accelerators, and buyers participated online.


During the briefing, detailed plans for non-face-to-face projects tailored to local market conditions were announced, including ▲online technology exchange consultations ▲online mentoring ▲online seminars. Additionally, the COVID-19 situation at each overseas base, new promising industries, and local market trends were shared, and support measures for small and medium enterprises' exports in the post-COVID era were discussed.


Cheon Youngseok, CEO of Twiny, who conducted a video consultation with a local accelerator at the Korea Startup Center (KSC) located in Seattle, USA, said, "We have developed an autonomous driving robot, successfully attracted domestic investment, and are preparing for overseas expansion." He added, "Thanks to the introduction by the Seattle KSC, we were able to hold investor meetings, and I am hopeful that we can officially start attracting overseas investment."


Kim Sanggu, head of the Small and Medium Business Support Center located in Qingdao, China, who participated in the online briefing, said, "In the second half of this year, we plan to support about 20 promising domestic small and medium enterprises' products through local live commerce platforms such as Taobao and Tmall."


SBC has a total of 27 overseas bases in 17 countries worldwide, including Korea Startup Centers, Small and Medium Business Support Centers, Korea Desks, and Export Incubators.


Kim Hakdo, Chairman of SBC, emphasized, "This was an opportunity to communicate in real-time with overseas bases worldwide and share K-non-face-to-face project plans and global market trends." He added, "We will reorganize SBC's overseas expansion support projects to focus on non-face-to-face and online methods and take the lead in the paradigm shift of exports in the post-COVID era."
