‘Dalbit Dongmaeng’ Daegu·Gyeongbuk COVID-19 Patient Treatment Appreciation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Hospital (Director Jeong Jong-hoon) announced on the 17th that it received four air purifiers from students of the Korean Language and Literature Department at Daegu National Open University on the 16th.
Amid a rapid increase in COVID-19 confirmed cases centered in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions during February and March, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency transferred patients from the affected areas to hospitals nationwide equipped with negative pressure isolation wards.
At Chosun University Hospital, all patients from the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions were successfully discharged after receiving treatment in the nationally designated negative pressure treatment beds set up in Ward 75, with prompt responses from medical staff including the Infectious Diseases Department, Respiratory Medicine, Radiology, Neurosurgery, and Otolaryngology.
In appreciation, students from the Korean Language and Literature Department of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Campus of Korea National Open University reportedly donated funds to express their gratitude to Gwangju Metropolitan City.
Following the wishes of the Daegu students, air purifiers were donated and installed in key patient contact areas such as the administration team and waiting rooms to ensure the safety of visitors to Chosun University Hospital.
Jeong Jong-hoon, director of Chosun University Hospital, said, “Although COVID-19 continues to sporadically appear in the local community, thanks to the warm sincerity of the Daegu students, our medical staff will be further motivated to dedicate themselves to patient care.”
