Launch of Baemin PLCC in the Second Half of This Year
Focused Benefits Provided on Baemin Points
Collaboration for Development of Eco-Friendly Food Containers Also Planned
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Baedal Minjok, the top delivery application (app) in Korea, is partnering with Hyundai Card to launch a Baedal Minjok exclusive credit card (PLCC).
Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, and Hyundai Card announced on the 8th that they signed a partnership agreement on the 7th for the launch, operation, and marketing of the Baedal Minjok exclusive credit card (PLCC) product.
A private label credit card (PLCC) is a card operated jointly by a company that wants to have its own credit card and a specialized card company. It is characterized by providing card benefits and services focused on the respective company.
Since its debut in 2010, Baedal Minjok has been recognized for transforming the domestic food delivery culture based on a differentiated digital platform. It has reached 15 million monthly visitors.
The Baedal Minjok PLCC, scheduled to be launched in the second half of this year, will be the first PLCC product among domestic delivery apps, featuring benefits focused on 'Baemin Points.' Baemin Points will be accumulated not only when using Baedal Minjok but also for various contactless services such as online shopping and digital subscriptions.
The two companies also plan to carry out a new form of collaboration. First, through a design collaboration, they will develop new eco-friendly food containers. Recognizing the seriousness of environmental issues caused by food delivery containers, Baedal Minjok introduced food containers that decompose quickly when buried, using eco-friendly coating materials, in May. Hyundai Card, which has introduced new concept bottled water and kitchenware through various design projects, will present new design food containers with Baedal Minjok that embody the meaning of environmental protection, Baedal Minjok’s unique style and sensibility, and upgraded user convenience.
Additionally, they plan to hold various unprecedented events such as Baedal Week, which offers exceptional benefits during designated periods.
A Hyundai Card official said, "Hyundai Card and Baedal Minjok plan to collaborate in various fields to provide new benefits and enjoyment to Baemin customers along with the development of the PLCC product," adding, "We will also accelerate the development of customer-tailored services based on data science and the discovery of new marketing insights."
