Gimhae City to Launch Student Horse Riding Experience Support Program Next Month

Recruiting 661 Students from Elementary to High School, 10 Sessions Held Until December

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 26th that it will start the student horseback riding experience support project, which was postponed due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), from July.

The project aims to help students' emotional and physical development through horseback riding experiences.

The city will provide 215 million KRW in support to recruit a total of 661 participants, including 600 for general horseback riding for elementary, middle, and high school students, 18 for social welfare horseback riding, and 43 for rehabilitation horseback riding.

Students who wish to participate can apply through their schools by July 3rd.

The program will be conducted 10 times from July to December, including theoretical lessons and practical experiences such as leading and riding horses.

The participation fee is 320,000 KRW, with students paying 96,000 KRW themselves, and students from financially disadvantaged families can participate free of charge.

A city official said, "We expect this to provide new vitality to students whose minds and bodies have been exhausted due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," and added, "We ask students to strictly adhere to quarantine rules."
