[Culture & Life Section Reporter Choi Jeonghwa] As we enter the post-COVID era, the beauty industry is focusing more than ever on refreshing skin condition.

Wearing masks and practicing social distancing, now social norms, help prevent the spread of COVID-19, but our skin and body are placed in very vulnerable environments. Living in this gloomy COVID era, constantly rubbing against masks and thirsty for a break from daily life, what we need is ‘healing in everyday life.’

Although we inevitably wear minimal makeup due to mask-wearing, the secret to maintaining clarity even 'foundation-free' starts with "daily care." Let’s overcome the COVID blues by realizing ‘healing beauty in everyday life’ together with the local cosmetic brand K4, which cares for both clean skin and the environment.

"Those who care daily can only be truly beautiful"

The moment foundation is applied, the skin, affected by the surrounding dryness, gradually loses its natural moisture. At this moment, spraying an ultra-fine mist collagen spray on the face creates the illusion of receiving care at a high-end spa.

This translucent mist that I fell for at the first spray feels familiar. I wondered where I had seen it before, and then I realized it was the very mist that Kim Go-eun occasionally sprayed in the drama 'The King,' sparking viewers’ curiosity. I remember it shone even more when used by Kim Go-eun, whose simple charm stood out.

Known as the "spray collagen" or "Kim Go-eun mist," this product is 'Gahi’s Wrinkle Bounce Collagen Mist Ampoule' (hereafter 'Mist Ampoule'), launched by Korea Tech, a renowned beauty device company.

Gahi, which pursues "home care in daily life," released the 'Mist Ampoule' last March, featuring 'salmon' as the main ingredient, chosen by brides-to-be aiming for optimal skin condition. It contains a precious 86.5% of collagen extract from salmon sourced in the pristine regions of Canada, filling the skin with nutrients and volume to strengthen the skin barrier.

The mist spray power, containing three types of fermented oils from Jeju, instantly replenishes moisture, and the French Film Excel technology helps maintain makeup for six hours. Especially, it has passed 43 clinical tests, making it a reliable K-brand discovery. Starting with the Mist Ampoule, I’m curious about other Gahi items. "Vegan can be this good too"

I personally like Beigic’s signature 'Regenerating Oil,' which is refreshing yet leaves a deep impression. Moreover, Beigic is quite a famous vegan cosmetic brand, providing a meaningful reason for conscious consumption.

The ‘Treatment Lotion’ (hereafter 'Beigic Toner'), released last May, also boasts a simple, no-frills design with elegance like the oil. Its clear, peach-tinted appearance looks very refreshing. It’s good to apply on a cotton pad for ‘wipe toner’ use during evening skincare, and in the morning, if your skin condition is normal, applying just the toner before primer or sun care is fine.

'Beigic Toner' is a boosting essence that balances the skin’s pH level to help absorb the next skincare steps. It contains Peruvian green coffee bean oil and six peptides that instantly soothe the skin and aid natural skin regeneration, smoothing the skin texture.

Additionally, peppermint, freesia, and chamomile extracts improve vitality and brighten the complexion while helping to calm sensitive skin. Beigic ‘Treatment Lotion’ 120ml 42,000 KRW.

"Ms. Young-ae’s Camellia Oil as Strong as Camellia Flowers"

Graceful yet possessing strong determination. Like actress Lee Young-ae.

With Lee Young-ae Oil, the scent of forest trees and wildflowers after rain lingers at the tip of the nose. Despite being an oil, it is neither greasy nor slippery, and after a few pats, it quickly absorbs deep into the skin. The moisture stays firm inside the skin, and a subtle glow gradually appears. It doesn’t cake when applied before makeup, so I often use it before makeup. When relaxation is needed, lightly applying the oil and massaging around the eyes, ears, and neck feels like relieving fatigue.

'Oil Plus,' famous for 'Lee Young-ae Camellia Oil,' is the best item from the Lee Young-ae brand, with the actress involved from the development stage. All products are 100% plant-based. Rich in oleic acid, it helps improve skin elasticity and maintain long-lasting moisture. Mixing it with lotion, essence, or cream further enhances moisture retention.

Clinical tests and inspections have proven 48-hour moisture retention, skin soothing effects, and elasticity improvement. Dermatological tests showed an average skin irritation response of 0.00, so even sensitive skin can use it with confidence. Lee Young-ae 'Oil Plus' 30ml 35,000 KRW.

"Focusing on Turnover, Enhancing Self-Regeneration with Herbal Beauty"

There is a smart herbal cosmetic that focuses on the skin’s natural cycle to enhance self-regeneration.

Introducing ‘Jeoncho Concentrate’ from Yeonjak, a new-concept herbal cosmetic launched by Shinsegae International for the 2030 millennial generation.

Yeonjak’s signature ‘Jeoncho Concentrate’ has the heaviest formula among the ‘Healing Beauty K4’ line. Its color is light soy milk-like, and its viscosity is between essence and serum. If you didn’t know it was an herbal cosmetic, you might pass by without noticing. It’s not heavy but has a moist texture. Layering 2-3 times for absorption can be expected to brighten the skin tone as well as clear the skin. It’s a great daily item for fresh use both morning and night.

Yeonjak means "a work created by nature." Yeonjak’s natural approach to enhancing self-regeneration so the skin can recover to its best state against external environments adds to its appeal, securing a top spot on the vanity. Especially during these difficult COVID times, sales have increased nearly 2.5 times compared to last year, continuing its rapid growth as a prestigious global K-herbal beauty brand. Yeonjak 'Jeoncho Concentrate' 75ml 115,000 KRW.

And, 3F/LOBBY

This photo shoot was conducted at the ‘3F/LOBBY’ caf? located in Yongsan. Known as the ‘Architect’s Pantry,’ this space combines the studios of three young architects with a cozy caf?. It is also famous as a ‘sunlight hotspot’ where sunlight deeply penetrates until late afternoon. The stylish interior designed by the architects themselves, the aroma of coffee brewed from freshly roasted beans, sweet handmade desserts, and sparkling sunlight gently loosen our weary daily moments.
