[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced on the 25th that it donated 700 boxes of ramen and 150 million won in cash to Gyeongnam Province to support underprivileged groups in the province who are struggling due to COVID-19 and other difficulties, in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Of the 700 boxes of ramen, 600 boxes will be distributed to 117 locations including 19 food banks and child centers in the province through the Metropolitan Food Bank, and 100 boxes will be distributed to 10 locations such as child care facilities and nursing homes for the elderly.

The 150 million won in cash was collected by BNK Gyeongnam Bank employees and executives who donated 1% of their salaries over four months to overcome the local economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds will be entrusted to the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea and used to support lower-income groups.

Governor Kim Kyung-soo said, "I appreciate BNK Gyeongnam Bank for practicing active sharing on the occasion of its 50th anniversary," and added, "Especially in difficult times, I hope the bank lowers its threshold and becomes a strong support for the local community."
