Jungnang-gu Resumes Operation of 193 Public Facilities in Line with Daily Quarantine Measures


[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) prepared to return to daily life by cautiously reopening some public facilities on the 6th in line with the government's transition to 'Everyday Social Distancing (Everyday Quarantine)'.


Infection prevention activities will continue to be implemented.


Since April 24, the district has started reopening 10 locations including Jungnang-gu Public Health Center Maternal and Child Health Center, Yongma Waterfall Park Soccer Field, and Jungnang-gu Lawn Stadium, and has decided to resume operations at 193 public facilities within Jungnang-gu.


From the 11th, 62 welfare facilities will partially resume operations. Four senior meal service centers?Sinnae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, University of Seoul Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Yurin Wongwang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and Myeonmok Comprehensive Social Welfare Center?will be available only to seniors receiving free meals, and small-scale non-contact programs with about 10 participants will be conducted.


Additionally, the Silver Cafe will be available for takeout only starting from the 8th, and the Toy Library will begin operating with a limited number of users from the 13th.


Along with this, six youth facilities including Mangwoo Youth Reading Room will open from the 11th. For the youth reading rooms, measures such as spaced seating will be implemented according to everyday social distancing guidelines, and lounges will remain closed. Usage will be limited mainly to regular pass holders, while general residents will be able to use the reading rooms starting in June.


Furthermore, 51 elementary, middle, and high schools in Jungnang-gu will have staggered attendance by grade starting from the 13th, and 29 kindergartens will be able to resume normal attendance from the 20th.


In addition, 22 libraries including Jungnang Sangbong Library and Jangmi Small Library will offer only lending and return services, and from June 2, four cultural facilities including Jungnang Art Center will resume operations with limited user capacity.


The district is promoting the 'Everyday Social Distancing (Everyday Quarantine)' guidelines to residents in an easy-to-understand card news format through Jungnang-gu Office SNS to prevent the resurgence of COVID-19.


The detailed guidelines include ▲ staying home for 3-4 days if sick ▲ keeping a healthy distance of two arm lengths between people ▲ washing hands for 30 seconds and coughing into sleeves ▲ ventilating twice daily and disinfecting regularly ▲ keeping hearts close even if distances grow.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Thanks to many people participating in social distancing, we have been able to return to daily life even if only a little,” and added, “I hope everyday social distancing is successfully established and COVID-19 ends as soon as possible.”
