One Additional COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Eunpyeong-gu

One additional case on the 5th (male in his 70s residing in Yeokchon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu), family member of local confirmed patient (#10142)... Disinfection of confirmed patient's residence and surroundings completed, transferred to national designated isolation bed (Seoul Medical Center)

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) reported one additional confirmed COVID-19 case on the 5th.

The confirmed patient, Mr. ○○○ (resident of Yeokchon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, male, in his 70s), is a family member of a local confirmed case (#10142). He had been under self-quarantine at home since April 3rd. After visiting the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center's screening clinic on the 3rd and undergoing testing, he was finally confirmed positive around 8 p.m. on the 4th.

The patient has currently been transferred to Seoul Medical Center, a nationally designated isolation hospital.

Disinfection of the patient’s residence and surrounding areas has been completed. Additional information confirmed through epidemiological investigation will be disclosed on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “Although the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is decreasing and the situation is stabilizing, additional cases continue to occur. We ask all residents to be especially cautious. The ‘Social Distancing Campaign’ has been extended for two weeks until the 19th, and we urge everyone to actively participate to prevent further spread.”

She also requested, “Residents who have inevitably traveled abroad are asked to strictly observe a two-week self-quarantine period upon returning.”
