Starting April, Applied to Ssangyong Korando and Tivoli
Vehicle Internal System Controls LG Uplus Smart Home Devices
LG Uplus, Ssangyong Motor, and Naver held a brand launch ceremony ahead of the official service launch of Ssangyong Motor's connected car system, which they have been jointly developing since April.
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] LG Uplus, Ssangyong Motor, and Naver will launch the vehicle connected service 'Infoconn' next month.
On the 31st, the three companies held the launch ceremony for the 'Infoconn' brand ahead of the connected car system release scheduled for April. Infoconn stands for Infotainment and Connectivity, referring to services that utilize information and communication technology (ICT) within vehicles. Infoconn will first be applied to Ssangyong's Korando and Tivoli models.
By leveraging LG Uplus's communication network and Naver's AI (artificial intelligence) technology, various services will be available within Ssangyong vehicles. The service areas include ▲Safety & Security ▲Assistance ▲Wisdom ▲Entertainment ▲Over the air (remote control) ▲Monitoring (vehicle management).

In vehicles equipped with Infoconn, users can remotely control the in-car air conditioner and other functions via a mobile app, and use Naver's AI platform Clova to perform voice searches or play content. Not only the in-car system but also LG Uplus's smart home devices linked to smartphones can be controlled. Various content such as Naver's music streaming service can be enjoyed.
Kang Jong-oh, Executive Director of Mobility Business at LG Uplus, said, "We view the connected car market as a future growth opportunity and have promoted joint development of connected cars by collaborating with Ssangyong Motor, recognized for its safety, and Naver, which has top AI technology. We will continue technological cooperation to gradually apply advanced network technologies, enhance infotainment services, and strengthen content."
