Megabox to Re-screen Opera 'Orfeo and Euridice' Starting Next Month 8

[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] Megabox will re-screen the opera "Orfeo ed Euridice," which tells a poignant love story from Greek mythology, starting from the 8th of next month through its curation brand "Classic Society."

"Orfeo ed Euridice" is a representative work of the composer Christoph Willibald Gluck, who pursued reforms in Baroque opera.

"Orfeo ed Euridice" is based on the legend of Orpheus, who embarks on an adventure to the underworld unable to forget his deceased wife. It was filmed at the Czech World Heritage site "?esk? Krumlov Castle," allowing viewers to enjoy the beauty of the medieval era. In particular, the Baroque theater stage of the fortress has been preserved and effectively utilized with its antique stage equipment to splendidly recreate the opera stage of that time.

The protagonist "Orfeo" was passionately performed by countertenor Bejun Mehta, who possesses a beautiful high voice and rich emotion. Bejun Mehta beautifully rendered Gluck's most famous aria, "Che far? senza Euridice" ("What Shall I Do Without Euridice"), which Orfeo sings longing for Euridice, conveying deep sorrow and emotion.

The opera "Orfeo ed Euridice" will be screened from the 8th of next month to April 1st at five Megabox locations nationwide, including Mokdong, Bundang, Central, COEX, and Kintex, with a running time of 75 minutes. The basic ticket price is 20,000 KRW, and a 10% online discount coupon is provided to Megabox Classic Society membership holders. Youth and preferential groups receive a 50% discount. For more details, please check the Megabox website and mobile app.
