Securing Stable Workload by Filling All Positions in 2021 Generation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Daeseon Shipbuilding announced on the 23rd that it signed a contract with Singaporean shipowner Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) in mid-February in Singapore for 2+2 units of 50,000-ton petrochemical product carriers. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2021, and the refund guarantee (RG) is expected to be issued in mid-March 2020.
At the end of last December, Daeseon Shipbuilding signed a contract with Singapore's Wilmar for 2+2 units of MR Tankers of the same type. Subsequently, by consecutively securing orders from EPS, one of the world's largest shipping companies, Daeseon Shipbuilding has filled its 2021 fleet, securing stable work orders.
With consecutive contracts with global large shipping companies operating fleets of approximately 120 vessels, this is expected to serve as an opportunity to overcome or supplement the limitations of the small and medium-sized ship market, which is sensitive to economic fluctuations.
A Daeseon Shipbuilding official said, "This is the result of long efforts after establishing a technology-centered sales strategy, and based on this, we will gain a good image in the difficult newbuilding market and build high-quality vessels that meet the shipowners' expectations."
