[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) held an emergency meeting with religious leaders on the 21st to prevent COVID-19.
Guro-gu announced on the 21st that the meeting was arranged to strengthen cooperation with religious institutions to prevent community infections, as confirmed cases have been occurring in many crowded places.
The meeting, held at the Creative Hall of the district office at 4 p.m., was attended by about 30 religious representatives including Mayor Lee Seong, where they shared emergency contact systems and discussed cooperation measures.
Mayor Lee Seong said, "Given the current transmission patterns of COVID-19, all sectors must unite their efforts to prepare," and urged, "Religious institutions should pay special attention to quarantine and hygiene management of their followers."
Regarding the Shincheonji group infections in Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, Guro-gu issued emergency closure orders for three Shincheonji-related facilities in the area and conducted disinfection operations in those buildings.
Earlier that day, starting from 2 p.m., Mayor Lee Seong visited the countermeasures headquarters and screening clinics. He received reports on the management of surveillance targets and disinfection activities within the district and encouraged the staff on duty.
