Seoul City Operates 'Jeongbi Project Academy' for Smooth Redevelopment

[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 21st that it will operate the '2020 Maintenance Project Academy Curriculum.' This is to support union (promotion committee) executives and union members in smoothly and transparently carrying out maintenance projects in accordance with Article 115 of the Urban and Residential Environment Maintenance Act.

The online courses are currently in operation, and offline courses are planned to be operated from March. However, offline courses may be postponed depending on the situation of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The eight courses starting this year are ▲Union Executive Capacity Building Course ▲General Maintenance Project Academy Course ▲Advanced Maintenance Project Academy Course ▲Maintenance Project Practitioner Course ▲Visiting Maintenance Project Resident School ▲University-linked Maintenance Project Academy ▲Maintenance Project Academy e-Learning Course (Introductory/Advanced).

The Seoul Maintenance Project Academy curriculum is operated as a customized course for stakeholders involved in maintenance projects. For offline courses, union executives take the Union Executive Capacity Building Course; landowners take the General Course, Advanced Course, and Visiting Resident School; public officials take the Practitioner Course; and citizens take the University-linked Course. Ryu Hoon, Director of the Housing and Architecture Headquarters of Seoul, said, "Through the operation of the Maintenance Project Academy, we will enhance the transparency and fairness of maintenance projects and operate courses separately for each stakeholder to provide customized educational services. In particular, we will strengthen education for union (promotion committee) executives and full-time staff to support the transparent and smooth promotion of maintenance projects."
