[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is implementing a 'Disaster Psychological Support Service' for citizens experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
Seongnam City announced on the 11th that it will designate and operate five centers as Disaster Psychological Support Service Centers until the infectious disease situation subsides, aiming to reduce excessive fear, help citizens regain psychological stability, and support a healthy daily life.
The designated facilities include the Seongnam City Mental Health Welfare Center in Sinheung-dong, Sujeong-gu, and four stress management rooms in three district public health centers.
On weekends, holidays, and at night, counseling is provided through the Gyeonggi-do Mental Health Welfare Center (1577-0199), offering 24-hour disaster psychological support services.
Any citizen experiencing mental health difficulties due to anxiety caused by the novel coronavirus situation can receive counseling.
If a person is assessed as high-risk during psychological counseling, continuous case management services and support for psychiatric treatment costs will be provided.
