[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Hyundai Motor Company released a video on the 23rd of the project "Second Steps," which assists Park Jun-beom, a national disabled archery athlete with lower body disabilities, in walking using "wearable robotics" technology.
In November last year, Hyundai Motor began a brand campaign to introduce its next-generation brand vision, "Progress for Humanity." The first brand campaign video featured stories centered on ▲robotics ▲last-mile mobility ▲autonomous driving ▲hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, conveying the philosophy of developing human-centered future mobility.
In that video, Park, the protagonist of the robotics segment, attracted attention by standing up from a wheelchair and drawing a bowstring with the help of Hyundai's wearable robotics medical robot "H-MEX."
The newly released "Second Steps" video is a follow-up story to the robotics segment. It captures the moment when Park walks and embraces his mother, symbolizing the connection between people through "mobility."
Notably, Hyundai implemented a gyro sensor on the mobile website that detects device tilt, requiring customers to hold their phones upright to view the video.
A Hyundai Motor official stated, "Athlete Park Jun-beom and his family have begun to dream of a new future through the 'H-MEX' technology," adding, "Hyundai will continue to provide various mobility services, including transportation means, to make 'customers' time' more valuable and to pursue progressive future technological development centered on humans."
