'Catch Battery Talent'... SK Innovation, Hiring New Graduates and Experienced Professionals in Battery Division

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Innovation is recruiting new and experienced talent in the electric vehicle battery sector, which it has identified as a future growth engine.

SK Innovation has been conducting open recruitment for new employees from January 17 to February 9. The recruitment fields are ▲Management Support ▲Business ▲Engineering.

What draws attention is the job positions being recruited. In the Business and Engineering fields, they announced hiring personnel in the 'e-Mobility' and 'Battery Production Technology' areas, respectively. Experienced hires are also focused on strengthening the battery division, with recruitment ongoing in the Battery Business PM Office and Battery Purchasing Office.

SK Innovation is currently making large-scale investments, positioning electric vehicle batteries as a new growth engine. They have established production plants in key EV markets such as Hungary, China, and the United States, aggressively pursuing orders, resulting in a battery order backlog exceeding 60 trillion KRW. As the business grows rapidly, the need to recruit related personnel is reportedly urgent.

The hiring of foreign lawyers also appears to be aimed at the battery business. The main tasks specified include mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and litigation dispute resolution. As competition in the battery market intensifies, this is interpreted as strengthening the legal team to prepare for lawsuits and other legal issues with LG Chem. SK Innovation is currently engaged in litigation related to trade secret infringement and patent infringement with LG Chem.

An SK Innovation official explained, "This year, we plan to hire experienced battery personnel on an ongoing basis," adding, "As the electric vehicle market grows, the demand for battery business personnel is increasing, making it important for each company to secure related talent."
