Kim Jeong-hwa, spokesperson for the Bareunmirae Party, said in a statement that day, "'It is not right for the political circle to incite division among the people, and I hope it will change through the general election.' Is this really a call to judge the opposition party?" and added, "It is not something the president, who is a divider of national opinion, should say."

He pointed out, "President Moon, who has ruined politics, economy, security, and diplomacy and is lenient toward himself," and asked, "Did he tell North Korea, which said to 'stop meddling presumptuously' toward our government, that 'it is not the stage to be pessimistic about inter-Korean dialogue'? Delusional fantasies are not a president's privilege."

He continued, "President Moon said he owes a debt of gratitude to former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk for contributing to prosecutorial reform," and added, "I want to ask what nonsense this is from someone who contributed to public conflict."

Spokesperson Kim criticized, "It is deplorable that the president exchanged the people for just one former minister Cho," and said, "A president who causes stress to the people from the start of the year, repay the debt first to the people who expected a fair, equal, and just country."

Spokesperson Kim said, "It is a new year. It is time to end the dark disaster period of the Republic of Korea."
