'Bonihani' Assault Controversy Choi Youngsoo Returns as BJ "Dirty World, Be Careful"

'Bonihani' Assault Controversy Choi Youngsoo Returns as BJ "Dirty World, Be Careful" Comedian Choi Young-su, who caused controversy over assault on EBS's live broadcast "Talk! Talk! Boni Hani" (hereafter Boni Hani), has recently resumed activities as an AfreecaTV BJ.

[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] Comedian Choi Youngsoo, who caused controversy over assault on EBS's live show 'Talk! Talk! Boni Hani' (hereafter Boni Hani), has recently resumed activities as an AfreecaTV BJ.

From the 4th to the 6th of this month, Choi Youngsoo uploaded 'replay' videos on his channel, restarting his Afreeca broadcast activities. This channel had been operated even before the Boni Hani assault controversy arose, posting various content such as gaming and mukbang, but after the assault controversy, all videos were deleted.

After resuming activities, he said on the broadcast, "Viewers, please stay healthy and don't suffer any unfair incidents in this scary world," adding, "Don't step on poop while walking. The dirty world has a lot of poop on the ground. Please be careful."

Meanwhile, last month, Choi Youngsoo was embroiled in allegations of assaulting MC Chaeyeon, who appeared with him on Boni Hani, and subsequently left the program. In the controversial broadcast, when Chaeyeon grabbed Choi Youngsoo's arm, he shook off her hand, and although the following scene was obscured by other cast members and no assault scene was shown, a 'thud' sound was heard, and Chaeyeon was seen clutching her shoulder area.

Viewers pointed out that an adult male made threatening actions toward a minor under 15 years old and that violent scenes were exposed on an educational broadcast.

The Boni Hani side apologized, stating, "There was no violence between the cast members that many people are worried about. In a live broadcast site where many people work together, there is absolutely no possibility of violence occurring," adding, "Since the cast members get along casually during daily live broadcasts, yesterday's incident escalated into a severe prank. However, there were parts that felt threatening in this process. Both the production team and the cast recognize the seriousness of the situation and will be careful to prevent such incidents from recurring."
