PSY may not have gotten the No. 1 title this week but he has left a strong impression to the audience here by keeping his vow to perform for free in Seoul.
PSY has maintained its position at No. 2 for the second straight week on the Billboard Hot 100 during the first week of October, eclipsed by Maroon 5’s “One More Night.”
On October 3, the coveted website said in a related article that the pop band managed to keep their third week reign, barely surpassing “Gangnam Style” fever which has been making people boogie around the world.
Though PSY’s electric dance tune earned pouring responses online and grabbed the top seed on countless number of digital songs charts, the five-member band’s rock tune showed better performance on radios and won the radio songs chart as well.
The global star failed to make a bigger buzz this week but is still keeping the promise to open a big-scale concert to show his appreciation to the Korean people’s support at a special stage set up just for the artist at the Seoul Plaza in front of the city hall, tonight at 10 p.m. KST.
The much-anticipated event is expected to be enjoyed by approximately 40,000 people with the help of Seoul City Mayor Park Won-soon, who is known to have ordered the officials to aid a full support for the event.
To smoothly operate the late night gig, the traffic around the venue will be directed to detour the site and public transportations will be extended to 2 a.m.
For his global fans, the concert will stream live online through PSY's official YouTube channel.
