Actress Park Han-byul will star in a sitcom starting this December, her first time to take on the genre.
The news came on Tuesday through a press release by MBN, Maeil Business Newspaper's upcoming general broadcasting TV service network.
The statement then said that Park will play a female second lieutenant, born between a colonel mother and lieutenant major father in the family sitcom named "Increasingly Bold" (translated title).
"Sitcoms are a genre I had really wanted to take on and I'll be playing an entirely new character so I have high expectations," Park was quoted as saying about her role in the 50-part show revolving around her character's family.
Park, 26, made her debut in 2002 as a fashion magazine model and made her acting debut through film "Wishing Stairs" in 2003.
She has since appeared in other films and dramas including her most recent pic "My Black Mini-dress" (2011) and has also been cast in a TV series to be co-produced by Korea and China.
