Korean idol Chansung of boy band 2PM will make his small screen debut in Japan with a role in an upcoming TV series, according to Japan's broadcaster TBS on Thursday.
TBS' official website revealed that Chansung has been cast to play the role of a macho thief named Jack in the new action drama titled "Kaito Royale" which will begin its air on October 28.
"Kaito Royale" is a live-action adaptation of a popular social game Mobage, where players become different types of phantom thieves and collect treasures. The show will also star Japanese actors Matsuzaka Tori, Fukushi Seiji and actress Omasa Aya.
Chansung is the youngest member of six-member group 2PM who made their debut in 2008. The group expanded their singing careers into Japan last November and have released their debut single "Take Off" and followed it up with "I'm your man."
The boys will soon unveil their third single "Ultra Lover" and gear up for their first arena tour in the country this December.
