YG Entertainment’s Lee Hi has become the first and only rookie singer this year topped Mnet’s music show for the three straight weeks. Though “M!CountDown” was not broadcast due to “MAMA [Mnet’s Asian Music Awards] Special” last evening, the retro-soul songstress heard the news from the broadcast that she attained triple crown record on the show with her debut single “1, 2, 3, 4," according to YG Entertainment's press release Thursday. “Thanks to my fans, I could achieve triple crown record on ‘M!CountDown.’ I really appreciate it. And my boss [YG’s head Yang Hyun-suk], you are the best!,” the 15-year-old singer was quoted as saying. Being the new retro-soul queen in the local music scene, Lee also topped the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 Chart for the third week in a row, according to Billboard’s website as of Friday morning. Meanwhile, the SBS’ “KPOP STAR” finalist is currently promoting her second single “Scarecrow” revealed online Thursday. ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
