씨티..WGBI편입 위해 투자절차 개선요구

[아시아경제 김남현 기자] 씨티측이 한국의 WGBI편입을 위해 투자절차를 개선해줄 것을 요구한 것으로 2일 밝혀졌다.다음은 씨티측이 재정부쪽에 보낸 내용중 결론부분의 원문이다.Conclusion Over the past three months, we note continued improvement in the Korean market, yet we continue to believe that it is too early to set a timetable for the inclusion of Korea into the World Government Bond Index. As we consider countries for inclusion, we always ask ourselves “Can global investors reliably replicate the returns of this market?” In the case of Korea, we believe that the answer to that question is inconsistent. Clearly, some investors have no problem investing in Korean bonds and, indeed, the increased demand can be seen in greater liquidity, even in sectors that were once considered somewha illiquid. However, other investors are finding the mechanical process of investing somewhat cumbersome. The pace of positive change has been impressive, but we continue to believe that there is more work to be done to make the investment process easier for all investors.
