Lotte World Tower announced on March 4 that it will begin recruiting participants for the "2026 Lotte World Tower Skyrun" starting March 11.
The Skyrun, held annually since 2017, is the nation’s premier vertical marathon, where participants climb 2,917 stairs to reach the 123rd floor of the 555-meter-tall Lotte World Tower. This year’s Skyrun will take place on April 19, with a total of 2,200 participants to be accepted.

This year’s event introduces a new elite category, where international elite athletes and the top three winners from the past three years will compete. The first-place winner will receive a commemorative gold coin weighing 5.55 grams, symbolizing the 555-meter height of Lotte World Tower. Second and third place winners will be awarded sponsored products. Additionally, their records will be posted on a new Hall of Fame page on the Lotte World Tower website.
In order to broaden participation opportunities, a raffle system has been introduced in addition to the existing first-come, first-served method. This change was made in response to feedback that securing a spot in the Skyrun was difficult, as first-come, first-served registrations typically closed within five minutes each year. Registration using the first-come, first-served method will be available from 11:00 a.m. on March 11 to 5:00 p.m. on March 12, while the raffle system will be open from March 13 to March 17 on the LotteON Skyrun page. The participation fee is 70,000 won.
For the "Kids Skyrun," where one guardian and one child run together, 50 teams will be selected through a lottery on the LotteON event page, and there is no participation fee. The Skyrun can also be entered through the "SKY RUN X SIGNIEL SEOUL" package, which includes a Skyrun entry ticket and accommodation at Signiel Seoul.
In addition to the elite category, the top three male and female participants with the best times will receive trophies and prizes, including a 1.23 million won Lotte gift certificate, a two-person meal voucher at Signiel Seoul, and a Uniqlo mobile gift card.
Lotte Engineering & Construction will donate all participation fees to the Bobath Children’s Rehabilitation Center under Lotte Medical Foundation, in line with the Skyrun’s mission of “A Beautiful Challenge for a Warmer World,” which aims to raise awareness for health and bring hope to children undergoing rehabilitation in Korea. The cumulative donations from Skyrun events exceeded 350 million won as of last year.
Lee Mihyun, leader of the marketing team at Lotte Engineering & Construction, said, "Over the past 10 years, nearly 12,000 participants have experienced both the achievement of climbing the tallest building in Korea and the value of giving back through donations. We will do our best to ensure that participants, as they take on this challenge beyond their limits, create truly special memories at the event."
