100 Million Won Provided for 2026 Milano-Cortina Games Preparation
Expanding the Base of Para Sports and Building a Sustainable Sponsorship System
Korea Toyota Motor announced on March 4 that it had delivered a sponsorship fund of 100 million won on March 3 at the Korean Paralympic Committee in Songpa-gu, Seoul, to encourage the national team participating in the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Paralympics.
This sponsorship fund was prepared to provide a stable training environment for about 20 national athletes participating in the event. As part of Toyota's global campaign, "Start Your Impossible," the aim is to support sportsmanship that overcomes limitations.
Korea Toyota Motor has continuously engaged in activities to promote sports for people with disabilities, starting with sponsoring the Korea Para Table Tennis Association in 2017. In 2023, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korean Paralympic Committee and sponsored the national team for the 2024 Paris Paralympics. At that time, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) was awarded a RAV4 Hybrid, a hybrid SUV, as a prize.
Jeong Jinwan, President of the Korean Paralympic Committee, and other officials who attended the delivery ceremony expressed their hopes for great achievements at the Winter Paralympics and pledged continued cooperation. The President and CEO of Korea Toyota Motor said, "We are delighted to support the passion and challenges of the athletes," and added, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities by accompanying athletes with disabilities on their journey toward their dreams."
Meanwhile, since 2005, Korea Toyota Motor has been making donations and conducting volunteer activities at 'Anna's House,' a shelter for the homeless, and since 2001, has been supporting the treatment of pediatric cancer patients through the National Cancer Center, among other social contribution activities.
