Citizen Engagement Campaign Launched with Council of Community Leaders
On February 25, Guam 2-dong in Masanhoewon-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongsangnam-do held the February regular meeting of the Council of Community Leaders and carried out a citizen engagement campaign calling for the easing of designation criteria for non-capital-area special cities and the early enactment of the Special City Special Act.

At the meeting, participants shared February local news and major pending issues, encouraged participation in winter forest fire prevention activities, and built consensus on the need to enact a special act to expand the authority of special cities and promote balanced regional development.
The attending community leaders agreed to work together to broaden public understanding within the local community by actively promoting the purpose and necessity of the system to residents.
Shim Yangsuk, head of Guam 2-dong, said, "The enactment of the Special City Special Act is an important task for improving citizens' quality of life and advancing the region," adding, "We will continue our efforts in publicity and communication so that the administration and residents can broaden their shared understanding together."
