Appointed as Acting Head exclusively in charge of the Northern Gyeonggi Fire & Disaster Headquarters
A fire administration expert with extensive experience in field operations, policy, and education
Senior Fire Commissioner Kim Jaehong assumed the position of Acting Head exclusively in charge of the Northern Gyeonggi Fire & Disaster Headquarters as of the 26th.
Head Kim was recruited in a career-track position as Fire Superintendent on July 10, 2012, and is a policy and administration expert with extensive experience in both central offices and field sites. Starting at the Yeongcheon Fire Station in North Gyeongsang Province in 2012, he went on to serve as Chief of the Inje Fire Station in Gangwon Province and as Principal of the Busan Fire Academy. He also served as Chief Secretary to the Commissioner of the National Fire Agency, Head of the Education Support Division at the Central Fire Academy, and Director of the Fire Industry Division at the Equipment Technology Bureau, overseeing the policy, education, and industrial sectors.
After being promoted to Senior Fire Commissioner last year, he served as Head of the Operations Support Division at the National Fire Agency and as Principal of the Gyeonggi Fire Academy, before now being appointed Acting Head exclusively in charge of the Northern Gyeonggi Fire & Disaster Headquarters.
Kim Jaehong, Head of the Northern Gyeonggi Fire & Disaster Headquarters, said, "Together with more than 3,500 fellow firefighters in Northern Gyeonggi and 3,800 volunteer firefighters in 131 units, we will thoroughly protect the lives and safety of 3.67 million residents of Northern Gyeonggi, strengthen a field-centered response system, and build an organization where employees can take pride in their work."
