A Strong Association with Real Substance... Pledging to Be a "Reliable Support"
"We Will Share Overseas Development Know-how and Networks"
Kim Hanmo, Chairman of HM Group, was appointed as the 7th Chairman of the Korea Developers Association (KODA) on the 25th.
The association announced that at its 18th regular general meeting held on this day at its hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Chairman Kim was appointed as the new chairman.
Chairman Kim entered the real estate industry in 2012 and has grown HM Group into a comprehensive real estate development group that encompasses residential, commercial, cultural, and asset management businesses. Within the industry, he is regarded as a leading figure among the "second-generation developers." Last year, he served as head of the task force for the association's 20th anniversary project and oversaw its major commemorative initiatives.
In his inaugural address, Chairman Kim stated, "The association must become a solid support that member companies can always lean on when times are tough," adding, "I will transform it into a strong association with real substance."
To this end, he presented three key priorities: establishing a mutual aid association for real estate development, ensuring the early stabilization of the performance verification system for development projects, and supporting member companies in expanding into global markets.
Regarding the mutual aid association, Chairman Kim said, "I will complete its establishment within my term and create a financial 'breakwater' that will not be shaken by external conditions," emphasizing the need to strengthen the financial foundation of member companies. On the performance verification system, he said, "By creating a framework that objectively proves developers' capabilities, we will secure fair evaluations from financial institutions and the public sector, and build a virtuous cycle of the association's financial independence and support for member companies." On support for overseas expansion, he said, "We will share development know-how and global networks to build a bridgehead for the era of 'K-Developers.'"
Concluding his inaugural speech, Chairman Kim said, "I will listen to the voices of our members from the lowest place and run at the very front," and added, "Let us all become one team and turn crisis into opportunity."
The Korea Developers Association is a statutory body established under Article 29 of the Act on the Management and Promotion of the Real Estate Development Business, and represents domestic real estate development companies in carrying out activities such as policy proposals and the training of professionals.
