Immediate Rewards for Small Actions...Up to 200,000 Won
Sinan County in Jeollanam-do will expand the operation of the "Proactive Administration and Collaboration Mileage System" starting in March to encourage proactive work by public officials and to promote regulatory innovation.
Unlike existing performance-based reward methods such as selecting outstanding public officials or holding contests, this system is characterized by recognizing and rewarding even small efforts and practices made during the work process on an ongoing basis.
The system applies to employees at Grade 6 or below, and mileage points are awarded based on performance in areas such as submitting excellent proactive administration tasks, improving regulations, utilizing prior consulting, promoting proactive administration, receiving citizen recommendations, and engaging in collaborative activities.
Depending on the accumulated points, participants can choose to receive local gift certificates, bonus leave, or coffee vouchers. The value is calculated at 10,000 won per point, with a maximum limit of 200,000 won per person. The accumulated mileage must be used within the same year, and it is extinguished when the reward is paid.
The county plans to immediately reward even small attempts and improvement efforts, thereby spreading a proactive public service culture and linking it to administrative services that county residents can truly feel.
An official from the county said, "Small changes in the field are the starting point of administrative innovation," adding, "We will spread a culture of proactive administration throughout the organization to enhance resident satisfaction."
Starting this year, the county will further expand the system and will continue to refine the accumulation criteria and reward methods based on the results of its operation.
