49 Doctoral, 253 Master’s, and 1,484 Bachelor’s Degrees

The event proceeded in the following order: academic report, president’s commencement address, board chair’s congratulatory remarks, various award presentations, alumni speech, representative graduate speech, conferment of degrees, and a celebratory performance.
At this commencement ceremony, a total of 1,786 graduates received their degrees, including 49 doctoral degrees, 253 master’s degrees, and 1,484 bachelor’s degrees. In addition, a total of 79 recipients were presented with certificates, prize money, and commemorative gifts, including the Board Chair’s Award, Thesis Award, President’s Award, Alumni Association President’s Award, AMP Alumni Association President’s Award, Governor of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Award, National Assembly Member’s Award, and Chuncheon Mayor’s Award.
Alumnus Kim Younggon, Associate Professor in the Department of Convergence Medicine at Seoul National University Hospital (Class of 2006, Department of Electronic Engineering), said in his alumni speech, “I hope that, in the moments of choice you will face in society, you will establish your own sense of agency through your own direction and decisions,” adding, “I support you in refusing to settle, in taking bold challenges, and in shaping a life without regrets through intense immersion.”
In the representative graduate speech, Kim Donggyu, a graduate of the Department of Convergence Forensic Science in the College of Global Convergence, said, “From professors to staff and classmates, I have formed precious and unforgettable relationships at Hallym University,” and added, “Even in a society where everything changes rapidly, I will continue to take on challenges at my own pace and in my own way.”
In his commencement address, President Choi Yanghee said, “Hallym University will continue to provide strong support even after your graduation so that, standing on this new starting line, you can design your lives with excitement and move toward success,” and encouraged the graduates by adding, “I hope you will become exemplary members of your communities through proactive decision-making, your own firm values, and the values of communication and consideration that you do not lose even in a rapidly changing environment.”
Board Chair Yoon Heesung said, “The knowledge you have gained at Hallym will have true value only when it is used meaningfully in society,” and added, “As you leave this familiar campus and go out into the world, I support you in leading society in a better direction through the core human values of responsibility and ethics, humility and service.”
As a celebratory performance, the “Hallym View Ensemble,” founded in 2023 by Hallym University Medical Center to support artists with disabilities, performed and added to the significance of the commencement ceremony.
