Ericsson Unveils Network Strategy at MWC... "Core Foundation for the AI Era"

Ericsson, a global telecommunications equipment company, will unveil AI-based next-generation network technologies at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, the world's largest mobile exhibition.

On the morning of the 25th, Ericsson held a press briefing at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul, and presented its key technologies and strategies to be showcased on-site at MWC 26.

At the briefing, Ericsson gave presentations on: ▲Accelerating AI with 5G and next-generation networks: Ericsson's strategy for the next-generation network era ▲Ericsson's next-generation base stations and 5G Advanced innovation technologies fully prepared for the AI era ▲Ericsson's AI-based rApps and solutions for autonomous networks.

Ericsson stressed that in the AI era, the role of networks is emerging as the core foundation that underpins applications and demand for next-generation digital services. The company projected that 5G Advanced, AI-RAN, cloud-native architecture, network APIs, and automation technologies will be the key enablers.

Among the key elements of network infrastructure, Ericsson emphasized that network performance, latency, security, and reliability are emerging as factors that determine operators' competitiveness.

Hong Seokwon, Head of CSS and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Ericsson Korea, said, "Autonomous networks are an essential element for managing increasingly complex communications networks and for the timely launch of differentiated services," emphasizing, "Given the variety of layers and vendor environments, openness through standards-based interfaces is the key."
