The Korea Association of Women Entrepreneurs announced on February 25, 2026, that it had signed a three-party memorandum of understanding with the Korea Venture Capital Association and the Women Enterprise Support Center at its headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The agreement covers discovering and nurturing promising companies in the femtech industry, and supporting the creation of investment funds and investment-attraction activities.

This agreement was prepared to establish a cooperative system for the stabilization and revitalization of the femtech industry promotion project, which is being implemented for the first time this year, and to promote the development of the domestic femtech industry by discovering, nurturing, and investing in promising femtech companies.

The femtech industry promotion project is hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and organized by the Korea Association of Women Entrepreneurs. Femtech, a compound word of female and technology, refers to technologies, products, and services for women.

The Korea Association of Women Entrepreneurs is currently recruiting professional accelerators (ACs) to jointly operate the femtech industry promotion project and plans to select 25 promising femtech companies together with the ACs selected in the future, and then begin full-scale support.

The finally selected femtech companies will receive multifaceted growth support, including accelerating, commercialization funds, and investment attraction, as well as opportunities to promote K-femtech technologies by participating in domestic and overseas exhibitions.

Park Chihyung, full-time executive vice president of the Korea Association of Women Entrepreneurs, said, "The femtech industry is a future promising industry that uses technology to solve issues across the entire life cycle of women, and it is a field that requires strategic promotion in an era of low birth rates and aging populations. I hope this memorandum of understanding will serve as a foundation for discovering femtech companies with excellent ideas and technologies, and for strengthening support and investment linkages so that they can grow into global companies."
